Facebook is the parent company of WhatsApp and announced WhatsApp Satus stories will be launched in 2020. In the annual Facebook Marketing Summit in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Facebook revealed the new feature on the WhatsApp application.
Oilivier Ponteville tweeted, the media head at BeConsectAgency. "Whatsapp will bring story ads to their status product in 2020."
The ads will be shown between WhatsApp stories, just like Instagram's stories, according to Olivier Ponteville. Olivier explained in the picture that stories are shown entirely on the screen and a link will forward users to the website.
Matt Navarra, a social media adviser, has posted new features on Twitter which will be updated soon by Facebook in WhatsApp. The other two features are Richer Message Format options and the integration of WhatsApp product catalogs with the existing Facebook Business Manager catalog, including the ads on WhatsApp's status stories.
The richer format of message means that the WhatsApp message would now include picture and text in only one message at the same time, along with PDF and text.
Facebook is testing a feature that allows companies to add their product catalog directly into chats, in an attempt to improve user experience while chatting with businesses. This will help companies without a website and that can promote their products through WhatsApp.
The status stories function of WhatsApp allows users to share a single day's GIF text, photos, videos and animated images. The vice president of business and marketing partnerships of Facebook stated last year in August that Facebook is planning to generate WhatsApp revenues via ads.
